Is it possible to order a stationary ramp?

Sometimes our partners do not need such components as transport wheels and jack system to adjust the height, they just need a stationary ramp. This option is as easy as a pie, though we still keep the ramps being functional: you will still be able to adjust the ramp height due to the remaining telescoping front bearings. We also retain the fixing points for jack system and wheels in case they will be needed in the future.

About the ramp lips

Folding top, side and bottom ramp lips are important components and functionally significant parts of any loading ramp design.
Treadplates. The upper surface of the ramp is made of treadplates sheet which ridges do not allow the forklift to slide. It is important that there would be nothing extraneous or superfluous on top of this sheet, for example, additional expanded metal sheet (EMS) as it will only damage the wheels of your forklift in this area.
Stiffeners. The ribbed stiffeners must be under the treadplate sheet; otherwise the lip will not be able to carry the load. Moreover, the ramp will carry the load much more efficiently if the stiffener is made from a channel bar manufactured according to GOST standards, with the correct wall thickness, and not of a self-bent box made of thin-walled sheet steel. The right channel bar as a ramp base gives more bearing area, and, therefore, it will serve you for a long time.
Mobility. If the top folding lip of hydraulic ramps may be built-in, i.e. a stationary one due to the car body support, the lower lip must remain flexible, "floating": this solution allows making the turning angle smoother and levelling the frequent roughness of the ground. Moreover, in our range of HL dock ramps there are bottom ramps shaped as a trapezoid, so that when it is impossible to pass exactly straight to the area, the forklift could drive laterally onto the yard ramp.

Protective fencing as a safety element

Protective fencing, or as it is called, bump stops or safety rail are an important safety element for an operator of ramps and equipment. What you should pay attention to while reviewing them?
First, Safety rail must be installed along the entire length of the ramp, except in those areas where they are not provided structurally, for example at the horizontal part of the 3-side ramp – there, a protective function is performed by the access lips that are not involved in the work. Secondly, it is much better when the bump stops are made of shaped pipes but not of the angle piece. Still, it is a safety issue which should not be skimped on.
Thirdly, there are Russian and European standards according to which the height of protective fencing on equipment such as loading ramps should be at least 200mm!
Guided by mentioned safety requirements for protective fencing, we have made it functional: all ramp models of our production have removable bumpers to make it convenient for you.
